CyberWill 2.0

Description

This performance blends Shakespearean texts with dance improvisation and new technologies. It is one of the first productions openly exploring ChatGPT as actor, collaborator, and theme. The piece delves into human relationships and solitude, juxtaposing two realities: the physical motion of dancers and the intangible word generator. The audience chooses which narrative to follow or combine. Themes include AI fear, Shakespeare (un)familiarity, human ineptitude, catastrophism, information overload, and cultural accumulation. Inspired by Cymbeline, it mirrors Shakespeare’s weaving of cultural threads and imagination. The title alludes to William and ‘will’ as desire. We remix pop culture and AI motifs (Matrix, Terminator), highlighting tragicomic blends of truth, fiction, and memes. Content generation is central, showing how text or gestures can be fleeting or deeply meaningful. We do not impose AI interpretations but present its strengths and flaws, leaving judgment to the audience. Finally, it’s also a comedy, because for what reason so grave ?
