Agnieszka Jachym

Agnieszka Jachym Tancerka, choreografka. Po uzyskaniu dyplomu zawodowej tancerki w 2012 brała udział w projektach Temporaere Theater w Niemczech, a dwa lata później otrzymała angaż w Tanzcompagnie Giessen. W 2018 odbyła się premiera jej spektaklu teatru tańca „Getto krakowskie” w Teatrze Nowym Proxima. W latach 2019-2021 pracowała w Polskim Teatrze Tańca jako tancerka i koordynatorka unijnego projektu „CLASH! When classic and contemporary dance collide and new forms emerge”. W PTT współtworzyła choreografię „[dis]solution” dla Balletto di Roma. Od 2021 współpracuje z Sasha Waltz&Guests, kreując role w spektaklach „In C”, „SYM-PHONIE MMXX”, „Kreatur”, „Beethoven 7", "Sacre". W 2022 otrzymała Stypendium Twórcze Miasta Krakowa na realizację spektaklu „GŁODNI", którego premiera odbyła się w Teatrze Łaźnia Nowa. Od tego czasu został on pokazany w Czechach, Bułgarii, Serbii i Portugalii. W 2024 Jachym wyreżyserowała „Zjednoczone stany solidarności” dla Europejskiego Centrum Solidarności.

So far, when creating my works, I have reached for literature, this time I want to let my imagination do its work - to undergo a sensory journey and look for answers to the question of what pleasure is? In "Epikurejki" - the piece I am currently working on, I want to refer to Epicureanism, where happiness was seen in pleasure. I will investigate what brings us joy in life itself, what pleasures do we have access to - and most importantly, do we allow ourselves to have them? Epicurus strove to develop the virtue of suppressing unnecessary needs. I have the impression that people have mastered this skill very well. The philosopher also noticed that various fears, such as the fear of death, prevent people from feeling their natural joy of life. On the screen, you will see a fragment of my research. I am developing the topic - ultimately, I am thinking about 4 women on stage, so I will prepare such film material for the Platform. In the meantime, please find attached my improvisation.
